How do the training programs
work?
Each rider
receives a monthly written training program along with 60 minutes to 3
hours of phone, email or in person consultation (depending on the
program they choose). Regular contact with your personal coach is an
integral part of the program. See the program
descriptions and
price comparisons for more
detailed information on each program. Consultation or one on one
coaching by the hour is also available without a monthly program.
How much does a training program
cost?
Wenzel Coaching
programs cost anywhere from $80 to $350 per month. Discounts apply
for sponsored clubs and for paying three or more months in advance. See
the
plan comparison chart for exact
pricing and more detailed information on each program.
Will I be working with a coach
individually?
YES! Our
training programs are based on a single coach/rider relationship.
We hope that you will get to know your coach and that your coach
will get to know you in order to provide the best training
information and service possible. All Wenzel Coaches make a
minimum three year commitment to Wenzel Coaching when they join our
organization, so our clients can be assured that they aren't stuck
with a "resident" coach who moves on only months later. Any of our riders can always
contact René or Kendra Wenzel or Scott Saifer directly if ever there is a problem
or concern with your coach or program.
How much contact will I have with
the coach?
Contact
with the coach by phone, email and in person is encouraged. You
should keep in touch to ask questions and provide feedback about how the training is going. Your coach expects to hear
from you! Most Wenzel coaches keep office hours or are available
regularly by cell phone or email. All Wenzel Coaching programs
include a minimum of 60 minutes of consultation time. This
consultation time can be phone, email or in person when possible. "In
person" consultation time is part of the Wenzel Coaching difference.
While some coaches may look impressive by offering a large amount of
consultation time that you'll never completely use, Wenzel Coaching
consultation time is available in person face to face when practically
possible. This includes rides, fittings, consultations or however you
and your coach decide to best use your time.
Is this strictly "Internet
coaching?"
Absolutely
not! We work hard to make Wenzel Coaching programs as personable
as possible. Regular phone contact and even face to face contact
is a possibility for those riders within local distance of their
coach. The coach/rider relationship can work strictly over the
'Net
if that’s the way the client and coach prefer. Check with any
potential coach to discuss the best way to communicate with you.
Can I receive my program over the
internet?
Programs
are emailed as an Adobe Acrobat file (.pdf file) unless you would
like them by regular mail or fax. (The Adobe Acrobat reader is a
free program available at
www.adobe.com)
Where is Wenzel Coaching located?
The main Wenzel Coaching office is based out of Portland,
Oregon with an additional office in Walnut Creek,
California. We have coaches all over the US and we coach
riders all over the world. As we add more qualified coaches to our
staff each year we are able to offer more hands on coaching in
more areas. Check our coach profiles to see if
there is a Wenzel Coach in your area.
Does Wenzel Coaching offer more
than training programs?
All Wenzel Coaches are
available for individual and club coaching sessions, camps, clinics,
seminars and banquets. Check back on our website throughout the year
to see when we are offering training camps and clinics. Contact us if
you would like us to direct a camp or clinic for your club or team or
to find out if we have any camps in the works.
Does Wenzel Coaching sponsor any
riders?
We do
offer a small number of partial coaching sponsorships for talented racers
with limited financial means and extraordinary drive and focus. If you know a talented young rider
who you think may be in this category, have the rider apply by
writing to our Head Coach staff. The rider should include an
explanation of his or her goals and send a racing resume
along with at least one recommendation from a professional rider
or local coach in your area.
Does Wenzel Coaching sponsor any
clubs?
Each
Coach sponsors a local club with discounted coaching.
Club coaches can provide regular seminars, group rides and skill
sessions along with significantly discounted programs for individuals
in the sponsored club. See the Club
Coaching page. Call or
write for details.
