When it
comes to knowing how nutrition can impact performance Heather has both
the practical and professional experience behind her. She completed
her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dietetics and continued on to
become a Registered Dietitian (RD) in 2002. She holds the highest
credential given to RD’s for being an expert in sports nutrition:
Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
Within the
last few years Heather has had a chance to put her knowledge into
practice with herself and fellow athletes. As a cyclist competing in
Northern California, she has reaped the rewards of sound nutrition
advice while competing in road races, criteriums and stage races. Her
favorite races to date are Pescadero road race, the Mt. Hood Stage
Race and the Albany Criterium where she landed a first place finish!
When
coaching, Heather takes into account all aspects of the client’s
health and fitness history and develops a rapport that is natural and
elicits open communication. She finds great satisfaction seeing her
clients achieve their goals; whether it’s improving their body
composition, energy levels, performance or general nutritional health
& wellness. Heather has coached cyclists, tri-athletes, long-distance
runners, and iron-man competitors. She also has experience with
diabetic athletes and gastro-intestinal illnesses.

Besides
owning her own consulting business Wellness From Within, Heather is
also a full time Nutrition Health Coach at Kaiser Permanente in San
Francisco, CA. On any given day she may be testing client’s resting
metabolic rate, preparing personalized meal plans, giving seminars on
nutrition and she’s even been known to give cooking demonstrations at
the farmer’s market. A true passion of Heather’s is cooking; so if she
isn’t at work or on the bike, she’s in the kitchen!
She
