Not only is Joshua a
practicing physician and Category 2 road racer but he has also been
riding for over 20 years and coaching for four. He has coached a
variety of athletes: from talented road racers going head to head
against continental pros in Europe to numerous local level “hard” men
and women. With his background he brings a blend of extensive personal
experience riding and racing, a physician’s understanding of the human
body and experience coaching a variety of athletes.
Joshua is a USAC Level 2
Coach. His area of focus includes road racing, cyclocross, century
riding and riding for general fitness and weight loss. He’s coaching
accolades include 30th in the Danish national criterium championships,
starting a young man out on his way to 4th in the USCF U23 Ntional
Pursuit Championships, 8th in the Tennessee Master’s Road Racing Point
Series, participation in two Master's National Cyclocross
Championships and helping an athlete lose 80 pounds on his way to 3rd
in his state’s Masters Category 4 Criterium Championships.
Since Joshua started riding
at age 13, he has had the unique experience of racing as a junior,
senior and master level cyclist. He has competed in the national
collegiate cycling championships, National Race Calendar (NRC) events
and regional events too numerous to count. He has medaled in State
level events and won several collegiate stage races.
Joshua lives in Rochester,
MN with his wife, a pediatrician, and three kids, having recently
relocated from Tennessee. For fun he collects coins with his kids and
recently got the whole family into ice skating.
